Blair-Mazzarella Funeral Home

About Blair-Mazzarella

An established Brooklyn funeral home offering personal guidance, broad service options, and respect for every family’s traditions.

A Brooklyn institution since 1904

Blair-Mazzarella Funeral Home traces its history to Harry F. Blair, who opened the funeral home on Coney Island Avenue in 1904. The business continued through later generations of the Blair family and became Blair-Mazzarella Funeral Home in 1988 when ownership transferred to James Donofrio and Joseph Mazzarella.

James became sole owner in 2001. His long experience as a licensed funeral director shapes a practical, attentive approach: listen carefully, explain choices clearly, and help each family create arrangements consistent with its needs and traditions.

Serving many traditions and communities

Brooklyn is home to families from many religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Our funeral home helps coordinate traditional funerals, burials, cremation services, memorials, green-burial arrangements, webcasting, and domestic or international transportation with respect for the customs a family identifies as important.

We serve families throughout Brooklyn and across New York City. Neighborhood names are used naturally as part of our service area—not as a substitute for helpful information or personal care.

Begin with a conversation

When a death has occurred, call us before worrying about every decision. We will help identify the immediate steps and arrange a time to review service options. Families planning ahead can also schedule a calm, unhurried conversation about preferences and information to organize.
